by many accounts, late 1982 marks the end of an era of rejuvenation for the band, or, conversely, marks the beginning of an era of heavy drug use by some in the band. In that light, Jerry's flub of Shakedown's lyrics are not so much amusing as sad, and a portent of things to come.

Shakedown in total agreement
Burnt Rich's review nailed it. This Shakedown is funny right from the start. The opening line is just mutilated and doesn't let up on the rest of the lyrics either. Makes you realize, who cares? It's the music that we choose. Maybe Jer had too much too fast that night?

Mein lieblingShakedown!!!--Loose Coast Style!
The other show was here last week!!?? What happened? This is one of my all-time favorite Shakedowns. Obviously Jerry is literally just poking around for some lyrics-(it justs adds to the dark aura of this song IMO) but the music is STELLAR!! It just smokes--and just feels edgy and high. Just a funky, long winded meltdown of a jam--then we abruptly fumble into Samson (thanks for the giggles Mr. Weir!!) and the rest of a juicy set.....Hot show in the opinion of these ears-nice. Holiday treat @ the time, I am sure for all those involved.

a tiny tiny bit too fast?
compare to the other version of this nite, see if you agree.
It is a small, but audible difference.

Very well-played show, and excellent sound for a late '82 board. '82 is pretty spotty in general sound-wise, although the July/August shows are for the most part spot-on. The sound quality on this one rates about a 3.5 or a 4.0, definitely higher quality than other boards from this run I've come across, and a cut above the previously available board of THIS show. Probably shouldn't say CUT, let's say a notch above. On The Road Again in 1982 was fun, what the hell. Plus a Shakedown and Terrapin and a lot of well-played first set songs too. Go for this one!

ok sound. solid playing.
that said, there is NO TRANSITION between On the Road Again, and Touch of Grey. This sucks when people label the songs like this.I love a good song transition, and believe me...These are played seperately and do not merit a >.
